UPDATE ON THE APPEAL – COME ALONG
The Planning inspectorate has sent more details of the inquiry which starts on at 10 am Tuesday 19th now being held in Perceval House. We will circulate the proposed program later this week once it’s confirmed.
The first day really sets the tone for the rest of the hearing, so we need as many people as possible to come along that day to demonstrate the depth of local concern. This is specially important as the council (LBE) will not be there.
The inquiry starts with the two parties – JLP/Waitrose and STT – making opening statements. Next up will be representations from the public. We need lots of people to use this chance to say what’s wrong with the development. As far as we know, there’s no set format or time limit for speaking, though the Inspector is likely to intervene if everyone says the same thing. If you want to speak but can’t come on Tuesday, you should write to Alison to ask to come another day. Her email is: alison.dyson@planninginspectorate.gov.uk
STT’s witnesses – Simon Greaves (planning) and Paul Velluet (design and heritage) are concentrating on the awful visual impact of the development.
