In last night’s three hour meeting, the planning committee discussed the Manor Road Tower application, hearing objections from STT, Cleveland Ward Councillor Linda Burke and James Murray MP who all said there were valid planning reasons to reject this application (LINK TO EALING TODAY). The developers spoke in favour and the application was strongly supported by the Council’s own planning department.

After much deliberation six councillors voted against whilst two abstained.

SO WE WON!! The towers application was defeated.

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to our supporters for all your help in getting this excellent result.

The developers will be back, and our fight isn’t over. But for now, it’s good to know we won this battle when the odds were so firmly against us.

What happens now?

The application will go to the Mayor of London for consideration (the GLA), and the applicant may ultimately decide to appeal the council’s decision to reject the application.  So there will be more to do – and we’ll keep you updated.

We want to actively consult with Ealing Council to achieve schemes that deliver affordable housing, in sustainable developments which build resilient sustainable communities.   This is what’s needed on this site and on the Hastings road site, which in turn need to fit into a shared vision for West Ealing in particular and Ealing as a whole.

Thank you
